The Hotel Stadt Hamburg is a charming and renowned hotel on the beautiful island of Sylt in Germany. Located in the heart of Westerland, directly on the famous beach road, it offers its guests a prime location just a few steps from the sea. For many years, the hotel has been a loyal customer of goingsoft and its parent company, Telekom Deutschland.

 

The distinguished, beautiful house is over 150 years old. Massive walls and high ceilings define the style of the historic building, which houses around 70 rooms and suites. The suites and rooms in the garden wing were freshly renovated in 2023. Each room is elegantly furnished and equipped with amenities such as flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, and free Wi-Fi.

Comprehensive Wi-Fi for satisfied guests

In 2018, goingsoft, together with Telekom Deutschland, had the opportunity to equip the Hotel Stadt Hamburg with a comprehensive Wi-Fi solution for the rooms and suites as well as the public areas in the hotel. One of the particular challenges was the thick walls and ceilings, which required additional access points. To avoid major construction work in the historic building, a comprehensive Wi-Fi network was created in the room areas using goingsoft's COAX solution. The public areas such as the lobby, bistro, seminar rooms, etc., were equipped with intelligent access points via the existing network cabling.

 

The internet connection also had to be adjusted, and a high-performance internet connection was installed through Telekom

Information about the digital guest directory delivered directly to guests

Through the Wi-Fi login, guests also gain access to the digital guest directory, our HOTAINMENT mobile. There, they will find all useful information about their stay, including details about the hotel, restaurants, spa area, and events within the premises, as well as useful and interesting information about the island.

 

The solution grows with requirements

Meanwhile, the 100Mbit BPA fiber-optic line (Business Premium Access) from Telekom has been upgraded to a 600Mbit connection. This provides users with streaming-capable bandwidth for the best entertainment.

 

In the newly redesigned rooms, new goingsoft TV devices are now installed to enhance guest entertainment.

Step by step, the remaining televisions throughout the entire hotel will also be replaced and converted to goingsoft HOTAINMENT TV devices.

Perfectly connected in the fitness studio and conference room

Not only the rooms, but also the public areas such as the lobby and fitness studio at Hotel Stadt Hamburg are equipped with powerful Wi-Fi.
