The groundwork for public WiFi in Krumpendorf has already been laid

With over 3,500 residents, the municipality of Krumpendorf, situated beautifully on the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee, is one of the smallest in Carinthia. Nonetheless, this location attracts visitors from around the world annually, making tourism a significant factor for the community.

To enhance the visitor experience, whether for vacations or day trips, public WiFi is essential. The municipality had already completed necessary preliminary work, laying a solid foundation for this initiative. Thanks to these preparations, the installation for expanding the public WiFi network by Magenta Business was completed in just two days.

New WiFi hotspot solution by Business and goingsoft

In the next step, the municipality successfully secured a € 15,000 EU grant under the WiFi4EU funding program. WiFi4EU aims to establish hotspots in locations lacking public WiFi access. The EU set a deadline for project completion as part of the grant conditions. Magenta Business was chosen for its ability to swiftly implement solutions within the specified timeframe.

goingsoft, as a sister company of Magenta Business, also played a role in the project. This integration brought in additional expertise, particularly in expanding guest WiFi networks for clients. Despite time constraints, we seamlessly provided the necessary hardware, ensuring successful project execution.

As part of the integration, public WiFi was set up at five locations:

The lake terrace
The lakeside recreation area
The leisure area with mini-golf, tennis courts and playground
Around the community center's banquet hall

Overall, approximately 1.5 km of public areas in Krumpendorf now benefit from public WiFi coverage.

Reliable implementation and support, as well as stable public WiFi

The municipality of Krumpendorf has expanded the locations where public WiFi is now available. As a result, the "Public WiFi" project has been successfully completed. Mayor Gernot Bürger and Karl-Heinz Rieger do not rule out involving additional locations in the future and relying once again on Magenta Business and goingsoft.
